About the Program

The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2004 with an initial intake of 60 students, which was later increased to 120 in 2012. The department offers the Undergraduate Programme – B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering and is equipped with modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and audio-visual teaching facilities to support quality education and practical learning.

The department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members with strong academic and industrial backgrounds. Faculty members actively contribute to teaching, research, and innovation, while students are encouraged to participate in assignments, projects, industrial visits, and technical activities for overall development.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST as per norms).
  • Lateral entry available for Diploma and B.Sc. students.

Laboratories of Electrical Engineering Department

Provides practical knowledge of electrical circuits, transformers, motors, measuring instruments, and network theorems.

  • High Voltage & Power System Lab

Focuses on power system protection, relays, high voltage testing, and electrical safety systems.

  • Research Lab

Equipped with MATLAB software for simulation, analysis, and research activities.

  • Electrical Machine Lab

Offers hands-on training with transformers, induction motors, alternators, synchronous machines, and DC machines.

  • Advanced Electric Drives Lab

Provides knowledge of motor drives, power converters, and industrial drive systems.

  • Advanced Control System Lab

Focuses on control systems, PID controllers, servo motors, and MATLAB-based system design.

  • Power Electronics Lab

Covers rectifiers, inverters, choppers, SCRs, MOSFETs, TRIACs, and power electronic devices.

  • Analog Electronics Lab

Provides practical understanding of analog circuits and electronic trainer modules.

  • Computer Based Power System Lab

Uses MATLAB software for power system simulation and analysis.

  • Project Lab

Supports student innovation and project development with computer and presentation facilities.

  • Electrical Measurement & Instrumentation Lab

Offers training in electrical measurements, transducers, bridges, clamp meters, wattmeters, and testing instruments.

Activities: – The following activities are conducted in MIT Kota as shown below
  • Expert Lecture on “Generative AI & its application” held on 28th, March, 2026
  • 15 Days In-house Training on Data Analytics organized in collaboration with TechZonce.
  • 45 Days Summer Training on web development organized in collaboration with All Bits Solutions.
  • 3 Days Data Science Workshop organized by All Bits Solutions, held on 3rd, April, 2025 to 5thApril, 2025
  • One day workshop on “basic knowledge of computer science” held on 28th, December, 2024
  • One day seminar on new era/Trends of engineering and technology held on 24th, December, 2024
  • 5 days Workshop in collaboration with MSME IGTR Kota for I and II year students held on 16th, December, 2024 to 21st, December, 2024
